When Jesus wrote His Name upon my heart and sealed my eternal destiny I had no idea what a struggle it would be to live for Christ on a daily basis. As my faith has grown so has my longing to be at home with Him in heaven, where my deliverance will be complete. When that day comes I shall dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening and dwell in the house of my Lord forever! Hallelujah!

Grandkids are the best!
Our grandkids are very creative, as you can see by what they've done with cheap paper plates!
Emma, our little dancing queen!
It's a shame that our digital camera does not record sound, because if it did you would understand how talented our little granddaughter really is. She's got the moves that goes with any kind of music. Here she is dancing to a song from High School Musical, and she's hoping that some day she will be able to sing and dance just like Gabriella! She absolutely loves that movie!

June . . . and the 4th of July!
We've never before had the experience of seeing fireworks from a boat on the lake, but this year we did! We were invited by our wonderful friends to experience the 4th of July boat/lake experience on the 3rd, and we were still able to spend the 4th with our kids/grandkids the very next day. So here goes, the pictures that paint a thousand words, and what a spectacular sight it was!

April and May - Showered with Blessings!
This is Mama on Mother's Day of May 2009 (76 years old).
I wish I could show all the other pictures we took or comment on some of the special moments that took place between the cousins and between my Mama and her other great grandchildren. There were some very precious moments, memories that will not be forgotten. Our son and daughter-in-law prefer that we not post their pictures or mention their names in our blogs (Cathy's and mine). We must honor their request, of course, but it's sad that I cannot share them with you. They are all very precious to us and we're proud of all of them!
Grandchildren are definitely one of the best of God's blessings, and we (Jim & I) have eight of them. They range in age from 2 to 13, and I close with a photo of me and my youngest grandson, Lincoln. You just can't beat it - strolling hand in hand with a grandchild who is in no hurry to get somewhere or do something. Soon enough they don't have time for this, but I'll take it for as long and as often as I can get it and cherish every moment of it. Praise God for Papa and his camera! This was one of those priceless moments that I really didn't want to end.

March Madness
We had some really good food and a great time.
Five days later, on Sunday, March 8th (same year, of course), our family celebration took place at our house. The entire menu was Cathy's choice: fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn on the cob, and Marie Calendar's Razzleberry pie (with ice cream) for dessert. We had to wait about three hours to have dessert (because we were all so full from dinner - well, at least the adults were), but it was worth the wait! Our grandson, Will, didn't think we would ever have dessert :) Three hours was way too long for him!
And, this is her whole beautiful/handsome family. What a good looking group, eh?
March 15th - my Mama's birthday! She turned 76, and the highlight of her day (I think) was getting an evening phone call from her very first grandchild (our son). She called me the next day to tell me all about it (for those of you who don't know this, she lives about 2,000 miles away from us). Since I wasn't there to spend her birthday with her, I couldn't take a picture. When she comes here for a three week visit in late April, I will be sure to snap several photos of her then.
